Why was it selected as one of the "Top 100 Global Niche Companies"?

The company was recognized as a global top manufacturer of "Architectural fluoroplastic Membrane Material ChukohSky™ FGT Series," which is used as roofing material for buildings both in Japan and overseas, such as the Bird's Nest at the Beijing Olympics, Ecopa Stadium, and Takanawa Gateway Station.
Since successfully producing the first domestic fluoroplastic membrane for architectural use in 1976, we have been the only domestic manufacturer of fluoroplastic membrane for architectural use, and our products have been used in over 1,000 buildings in more than 10 countries.

What is the 2020 edition of the "Top 100 Global Niche Companies"?

The 100 Global Niche Top Companies are companies selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry that are engaged in international expansion, have differentiating factors such as appropriate marketing, highly unique product development, and strict quality control, and have secured a high share in their niche fields.

The 100 Global Niche Top Companies were selected for the first time in 2013.
Subsequently, our company was selected as one of the 2020 edition of the "100 Global Niche Top Companies," a list of companies that have been successful in niche fields despite the harsh economic environment of advances in the digital economy, fluctuations in the global political and economic situation, and changes in social structure such as a declining birthrate and aging population.

Takanawa Gateway Station

Takanawa Gateway Station aims to serve as a gateway connecting Tokyo with the world, so the station building has been designed to evoke a Japanese atmosphere. The large roof, which is based on the origami motif and is the symbol of the station, is made from the ChukohSky™ FGT series of architectural fluoroplastic membrane materials. The gentle light that shines through the roof, like that of a shoji screen, is due to its translucency. The concourse is bright even without lighting, which also contributes to energy conservation. In addition, its flame-retardant and lightweight properties make it possible to reduce damage in the event of a disaster.

To date, our membrane materials have been used in a variety of buildings both in Japan and overseas. However, we are not satisfied with the current situation and will strive to meet customer needs in a wider range of fields than ever before.
